Pilot - Is this thing on?

Ok... so this is my first attempt at a blog. I guess an intro is in order? I'm Momma Helms and I am a proud farmer's wife from Southeast Alabama. I have a beautiful 10 month old daughter "Bug" and Hubs and I are expecting our lil' "Peanut" in February.
Now you get the name ;).
I have 3 fur babies, a lab/pit mix Roxie, a blue tick coon hound Dixie, and a rescue kitty Katniss. I also "dogsit" 2 other furbabies as they are regularly hanging out with my dogs at my house, austrian shepard Daisy and rescue dog Buster -you may notice me refer to him as "that dog" or other names as well. He comes around my house less often now since I've tried to run him off from eating and tearing up my bell pepper plants and eating my harvested sweet potatoes among other distasterous things. It's hard though, seeing as he is Hubs' aunts dog who lives behind us =/
So that's my lil family.
I'm a SAHM and I love it. It's a busy hard job, especially as a farmer's wife.
What Can you expect from this blog?
Really... total randomness I'm sure.  I cook, so I can post recipes (i'll probably post tonight's meal) I garden, I am trying to sew (join me on my adventure) I am a cloth diaper addict user, I'm a lil crunchy [natural stuff] along with my crunchy mommy, maybe I'll post my recipe for homemade detergent and cloth diaper detergent another day?  I don't anymore -but will soon-  breastfeed and make my own babyfood [more recipes??]
So I hope you few readers enjoy :)

Today:
Fluffy mail! Yes, this is the lingo for cloth diapers via mail. It's glorious. Today I recieved 4 bamboo inserts and one new print pocket from Alva. [I may have a cloth diaper info blog later]
Bug is still happily walking while holding on to something, even if it's just the edge of my shirt. Can't wait! She is also such a horrible teether! She got her bottom central incisors around 7 months. Now we're getting our lateral top incisors. Yes, we skipped the top centrals for now. But we hopped on the fussy train and it's stuck!
Peanut has been kicking and jabbing away as well as making my blood sugar really low. I felt so off and weak today, didn't get much done after my makeup appointment [oh yeah, I do makeup too, like for pageant and prom etc. Today it was bridal photoshoot]. I'm 21 weeks pregnant today.

Dinner = Parmesan Chicken Pasta :) an all time favorite of mine from the restaurant I used to work for, made with my own style.

Recipe:
Serves 2
2 chicken breast (whole or cut into strips)
bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/2 jar of marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups of Penne
Parmesan cream sauce
**3-4 tblsp butter melted into a saucepan. Mix in 1/8 c of flour. Pour 1 cup of milk in and whisk and stir continuously until it reaches desired thickness. Salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste.**
Bread the chicken breasts by dipping into the egg then rolling in the bread crumbs. I like to add some Parmesan cheese to my bread crumbs. Bake about 20 - 25 mins.
Simmer marinara in a small sauce pan, covered to avoid splatter.
Boil Penne, usually 11 minutes for al dente, 12-13 minutes if you're like me and would like your noodles well done. Drain.
Prepare you cream sauce. and mix with your noodles. Serve by pouring marinara over your cheesy noodles topped with the breaded chicken and maybe even some added Parmesan.

I think this will do well as an intro post. I think from now on each post will bring you to each aspect of my SAHM life. Like maybe next post will be about  cloth diapers, the next about bargain shopping. Who knows. I'm a multi-faceted mama.
